About Us
The Gun Violence Prevention Research Roundtable is a nonpartisan, national coalition of leading medical, public health, and research organizations focused on educating policymakers and partners about the value of federal funding for firearm violence prevention research. We advocate for sufficient resources for this research to help understand and address the public health issue of firearm violence. We are grateful to the Joyce Foundation for its critical support to make this work possible.
Our Members
Our members are medical, public health, and research organizations dedicated to growing the field of firearm violence prevention research through sustained and expanded federal investments. These organizations have longstanding partnership on and commitment to this work. Like public health research on other topics such as motor vehicle safety, this critical research helps reduce injuries and deaths from firearms to keep children, families, and communities safe.
Our Steering Committee
The coalition’s steering committee coordinates and supports the coalition’s work. Steering Committee members include:
Our Advisory Committee
Bringing together leading clinicians, public health practitioners, and researchers, the coalition’s Advisory Committee provides invaluable insights to best understand the role of federal funding in building this research community in a sustainable and impactful way.
The Advisory Committee also provides the coalition with a long-term vision for this public health field and an understanding of the resources necessary today to make that vision a reality. We are grateful to these experts for their contributions to the coalition and their longstanding leadership in this field.
